Eligibility Criteria of Wellington Pasifika Master's by Thesis Scholarship: Open to all domestic and international Pasifika candidates eligible at the time of application, or who will be eligible by the start of Trimester 2 the following year, to enrol in a Master’s by Thesis degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants must be enrolled in a one-year Master’s programme or Part 2 Master’s degree with a thesis course worth 90 points or more, usually coded 591 or 592. Eligibility also includes students taking a portfolio course of 90 points or more under the University’s Master’s by Thesis regulations; students taking a 60-point dissertation course are not eligible. Selection Criteria: Applicants must be of Pasifika descent and intending to enrol for a Master’s by Thesis degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Applicants’ thesis must be at least 90 points in value. Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. Award: NZD 15,000 tax-free stipend for one year plus tuition fees. Note: The scholarship provides a NZD 15,000 tax-free stipend for one year, plus tuition fees and levies (for domestic students, 120 points), with part-time students receiving a pro-rated amount across two years; international students may pay the difference between domestic and full international fees. The stipend is paid monthly after enrolment confirmation, and fees and levies are paid directly to the University by the Scholarships Office. Approval is required to hold other awards totaling more than NZD 6,000 concurrently, which may reduce the stipend; exceptions include holding this scholarship alongside a VUW Postgraduate International Scholarship, with no reduction.
