Eligibility Criteria for UQ PhD Industry Placement Award: Applicants must: Be a PhD candidate at University of Queensland. Be either: Receiving no living stipend, or Receiving a stipend managed by an external sponsor. Successfully complete a Graduate Research School–approved PhD Industry Placement of at least 60 working days. Submit a project brief within the first 18 months (FTE) of candidature, including: Project outline Placement duration Host organisation approval Supervisor endorsement Complete the placement at least one month before stipend expiry, including required reports and completion confirmation. Value of UQ PhD Industry Placement Award: $9,375 AUD (2026 rate, indexed annually) Application Process: Enrol as a PhD candidate at UQ. Apply for and participate in an approved HDR Industry Placement (minimum 60 working days). Submit a project brief within the first 18 months FTE with required approvals.
