Be applying for a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) at the University of Tasmania. Be intending to study full-time. Not be receiving another equivalent award, scholarship, or salary that provides a benefit greater than 75% of the TGRS stipend rate. For international applicants: May need to secure a Tuition Fee Scholarship separately (as TGRS does not automatically waive tuition fees for international candidates). Benefits of the Tasmania Graduate Research Scholarship, 2026: Living Allowance: AUD $34,315 per annum (2026 rate), indexed annually (paid fortnightly). Relocation Allowance: Up to AUD $2,000 to assist with relocation costs to Tasmania. Tuition Fees: Domestic: Covered by the RTP Fees Offset (no tuition cost). International: Must secure separate Tuition Fee Scholarship or pay tuition fees. Not Covered: Student Services and Amenities Fee, Overseas Health Cover (OSHC), visa costs.
