Eligibility
Eligibility Criteria for the National Merit Scholarship: The application is open to Washington state residents. The applicant is eligible for the scholarship, if the student is identified as a semifinalist by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The student must enroll at WSU Pullman in the fall semester immediately following their high school graduation. Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, and transfer students are not eligible for this award. Value of the Scholarship: The selected candidates will be awarded with a Full Tuition Waiver of $11,500. Tuition awards valid for up to 18 credit hours per semester. Additional Information: Recipients of a National Merit Scholarship Corporate Sponsored award will have the amount of their scholarship reduced by the amount of the corporate award, so that it will not exceed the amount of tuition. The National Merit Scholarship cannot be combined with the Regents Scholar award, the University Achievement Award, the Cougar Academic Award, or the Visitation Award. The National Merit Scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years, if you meet the following renewal criteria: Maintain good academic standing with the university by the end of spring semester, or fall semester if you began in the spring, Enroll in 12 credits each semester on the Pullman or Spokane campus; and, Must continue enrollment on the Pullman or Spokane campus.
