Eligibility for 'Ko Te Tangata' School Leaver Scholarship: Applicants must: Be studying at NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) towards University Entrance in the year of application. Demonstrate academic readiness and a desire to study at the University of Waikato. Intend to enroll full-time (120 points) in an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato for the first time. Hold domestic fee status (NZ Citizen, NZ Permanent Resident, NZ Resident Class Visa holder, or Australian Citizen/Permanent Resident domiciled in NZ). Gap Year Applicants must: Not have done any degree-level study during the gap year. Have already achieved University Entrance. Provide a valid reason for the gap year. Value of the 'Ko Te Tangata' School Leaver Scholarship: Successful applicants will get a scholarship of up to NZD 5,000 and will have a tenure of one year, even if a recipient’s Free status spreads the processing of the Scholarship over more than one year.
