Eligibility for Fulbright Scholarships For Norwegian Students: Norwegian citizenship: Regretfully, those who possess dual Norwegian and American citizenship are ineligible to apply. Two nationalities Norway or any other nation are not disqualifiers. Bachelor's degree completion, or equivalent, by spring 2026 at the latest Test scores (SAT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, etc.) are not necessary to qualify for a Fulbright fellowship. It is the applicant's responsibility to take the exams that the American educational institutions to which he is applying require. Applicants are not eligible to apply for a scholarship if they have already begun their degree program or course of study at an American university in the United States. Subject to all other factors being equal, applicants who have not resided or stayed in the USA for an extended length of time may be given preference. Candidates with master's or doctoral degrees in medicine are welcome to apply, but they are not permitted to see patients while they are in the United States. Candidates need to be available for interviews, which take place on Zoom. Travel on a J-1 visa with a "two-year rule" clause is mandatory for all Fulbright scholars. This means that to apply for a more permanent residence permit in the United States, the candidate must first spend two years following the completion of their study or research stays in their home country.
