Eligibility Criteria for the Eugene J. Blackman Scholarship: The application is open to all nationals. Freshmen are eligible for this scholarship, but typically awarded to 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students who aren’t yet graduating. All candidates must demonstrate outstanding professional promise in theatre. Selection Process: All prospective students to submit a portfolio no matter what area of theatre-making you are interested in. The students' portfolio should comprise a broad range of academic and creative accomplishments. The portfolio may include Performance, Production (Design/Technology/Stage & Production Management/Dramaturgy/Theatre Studies/Choreography), Playwriting and Directing. Auditions for the Theatre major are not required – they are encouraged. You may audition in-person on campus or virtually over Zoom. Auditioning can help to enhance your admissions profile and increase your merit-based financial aid if accepted.
