Eligibility criteria: The applicant must be an Indigenous student from a community close to Canadian Natural operations or the child or dependant of a Canadian Natural employee (spouses are not eligible). Applicants who identify as Indigenous must submit documentation of their status, such as a letter from local authorities or formal identification. Applicants of the CNR Building Futures Scholarship, 2026 must be residents of Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, or Saskatchewan) for a minimum of one year before application. Applicants from communities where Canadian Natural has operations will be given more preference. Candidates must have a Canadian Social Insurance Number. Candidates must be studying subjects related to the oil and natural gas industry and those supporting the communities where such operations occur. An applicant can make only one application per year. Candidates applying for the CNR Building Futures Scholarship, 2026 must maintain an average of C+ or 75% in their courses.
